dump it cobbler 001 copy

Hi friends!  Wow, has it ever been a long time…..too long!  I have missed you all so very much, you just don’t know.

I have this crush on all things crochet these days.  I have been crocheting for a while but I have been trying to create my own patterns, which is very challenging and also very fun.  I hope to share some of these goodies with you very soon!

Today I am sharing a recipe that has been in my family for a long time and I am certain that many of you will say the same thing.  But for those of you who do not know about “dump it” cobbler, it is super easy and super delish which is why it is a goodie that has survived over time.  You just dump it all in a dish and bake.  My kind of dessert!

I hope you all enjoy this little treasure!

Who all likes to crochet and what crochet items would you like to see?

‘Til next time my friends,

Donna

BLACKBERRY “DUMP IT” COBBLER

1 stick butter

1 cup sugar

1 cup self rising flour

1 cup milk

1 can blackberries (or your favorite fruit)

Preheat oven to 350F.  Melt butter in an iron skillet.  In a bowl, combine the sugar and flour.  Add the milk to the sugar/flour mixture and combine well.  Pour over the melted butter in the iron skillet (do not stir, just dump it in).  Then dump in your blackberries including the juice  (again, do not stir).  Place skillet in oven and bake for 1 hour.  Serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

There you are! Seriously, I was just thinking last night: Where is that Sugared Pecan? Then, I thought of you again this morning – mostly because I saw some sugared pecans – I am so glad you returned. You always have such lovely recipes and this is no exception! I’ve never made cobbler in my iron skillet and but I think it would be great and can’t wait to try! KK

Thank you Kelli! I am so glad someone was thinking of me, that makes me feel so good!!!! FYI, this can be made in a casserole dish too. I have made it in both. Let me know how you like it. And thanks again, it is good to be back!

It’s a goodie to have on hand. This came from my great-grandmother and was probably around generations before her. It is really good with peaches too!

      • Sarah January 26, 2013 at 9:33 am #

That sounds good too! Thanks Donna! I need this right now :) I should not read food blogs when I’m hungry, lol.

      • sugaredpecan January 26, 2013 at 9:40 am #

I know what you mean!!! Have you made your site private? I couldn’t get to it.

      • Sarah January 26, 2013 at 10:06 am #

Yeah, I did make it private just to keep the recipes. I’m not going to write it anymore. I can’t keep up with it…it cuts into my blog reading time! Which I love, so gonna stop writing for a while, and just enjoy reading everybody else :) I’ll let you in to it if you want any of the recipes though :)
